The construction of the water dam creating the landscape in Ha Giang City’s centre began in early 2023 with a total investment of over 330 billion VND. To date, 62% of the contracted work has been completed, and more than 202 billion VND has been disbursed, reaching 93% of the allocated capital plan.

Construction progress for the first phase of the Ha Giang Provincial Sports and Cultural Complex project has reached over 80%, with 256 billion VND disbursed, accounting for more than 94% of the allocated funds.

According to the leaders of the Management Board for the Provincial Construction Investment Project, efforts have been underway to urge contractors to take advantage of favourable weather conditions, mobilise manpower and machinery, and ensure the project stays on schedule. The goal is to complete the construction by the end of 2025 as planned.

After inspecting the construction sites and reviewing progress reports on the two projects, Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee Hau A Lenh acknowledged, commended, and highly appreciated the responsibility and efforts of the project investors and construction units in ensuring adherence to the planned schedule.

He emphasised that these are key projects for the province, marking a new phase of development and serving as milestone projects to celebrate the Party Congresses at all levels, leading up to the 18th Provincial Party Congress for the 2025–2030 tenure. Therefore, to ensure both their progress and quality, he requested the Ha Giang Provincial People's Committee to direct relevant departments, agencies, and sectors to strengthen inspections, resolve difficulties and obstacles, and provide the project investors and construction units with great support to prevent delays in implementation.

While surveying several locations along the Lo River, the provincial Party secretary requested that Ha Giang City identify scenic spots and develop investment plans to transform them into key highlights of the city. This would maximise the potential and advantages once the water dam is completed, fostering tourism development, job creation, and income generation for the local residents. He also stressed the importance of socialisation and attraction of private investment to support these initiatives.
