BHG - Entering 2025, Ha Giang Province is determined to implement its socio-economic development tasks from the very beginning of the year, avoiding the common situation of a slow start followed by a year-end rush. The Provincial People’s Committee has assigned 36 key targets to departments, agencies, and People’s Committees of districts. Notable goals include an 8% growth rate, state budget revenue of 3.41 trillion VND, per capita GDP of 45 million VND, 3.5 million tourist arrivals, a 15% increase in the industrial production index, and a total import-export value of 500 million USD. In the face of opportunities and challenges, achieving these targets requires the entire political system to proactively address bottlenecks and effectively implement suitable solutions.

The first month of the year coincided with the Lunar New Year, bringing vibrant commercial activities. Localities actively ensured the supply of essential goods, strengthened food safety and hygiene controls, and cracked down on smuggling and trade fraud. At the same time, the province promoted investment, boosted tourism demand, organised thematic conferences, held business meetings, and hosted the “Ha Giang – A Leading Cultural Destination in Asia” exhibition to welcome the first visitors of the year.

Thanks to these efforts, the province’s economy has shown remarkable progress with impressive results: budget revenue exceeded 210 billion VND, tourist arrivals reached 242,550, total tourism revenue surpassed 600 billion VND, and total retail sales and service revenue hit 1.9 trillion VND, up 15.65% year-on-year. The industrial production index rose by 0.14%, while the consumer price index increased by 1.83%. Among the 11 categories of goods and services, 10 saw price increases compared to the previous month. The agricultural sector continued to expand, with winter crop planting covering 13,417 hectares and increased harvest yields.

Additionally, the total outstanding credit was estimated at 31.57 trillion VND, up 94 billion VND from the end of 2024. Twenty-one new enterprises were registered, with a total capital of 18.3 billion VND. The programme to eliminate temporary and dilapidated housing achieved significant results, with 2,350 new houses started, more than 1,000 of which were completed before the Lunar New Year.

These outstanding achievements in the first month of the year provide a crucial foundation for the province to accelerate, innovate, and strive to fulfill its socioeconomic development goals for 2025 and the entire 2020-2025 period.
