Ha Giang: Rain-triggered floods kill one, cause damage worth 15.6 billion VND

BHG - Floods due to heavy rains on September 8 night and September 9 morning have caused one death and damage to properties worth an estimated 15.6 billion VND, according to the provincial disaster management agency.

The one death was three-year-old Giang Thi C in Hau Chua Village, Giang Chu Phin Commune, Meo Vac District, who was swept away by the floods.

The province reported damage to 132 houses and 441 hectares of rice, corn and other crops. Over 10 hectares of aquafarming, 4,500 chickens and several pigs, cows and goats were swept away.

Landslides caused many road closures throughout the province, especially in Bac Me, Hoang Su Phi, Bac Quang, Dong Van, Xin Man and Quang Binh Districts.
