Ha Giang honoured as “Asia’s Leading Regional Cultural Destination 2024”

BHG - The World Travel Awards 2024 (WTA) Asia and Oceania took place in Manila, the Philippines on the evening of September 3. Vice Chairman of Ha Giang Provincial People’s Committee Tran Duc Quy and leaders of the provincial Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism, the Provincial People’s Committee Office, and the Provincial Tourism Association attended the ceremony.

At the event, Ha Giang was honoured as the Asia’s Leading Regional Cultural Destination 2024, which is an important category in the WTA awards system, focusing on evaluating related criteria such as cultural preservation and sustainable development of natural resources and ecosystems. Previously in 2023, Ha Giang was also honoured by the World Travel Awards as the Asia’s Leading Emerging Tourist Destination 2023.

Ha Giang tourism is seeing strong transformation thanks to its unique advantages in terms of geographical location, natural landscapes, and tourism resources, notably the Dong Van Karst Plateau UNESCO Global Geopark, unique traditional cultural values ​​of ethnic minorities, and due attention and big investment from the local authorities. The Asia’s Leading Regional Cultural Destination 2024 is known as the ‘Oscar of the world tourism industry’, is the recognition of the province’s efforts in building its image and promoting goal-oriented and sustainable development. At the same time, it is a driving force for the province to continue to strengthen solutions to enhance and affirm the position of Ha Giang tourism on the regional and international tourism map in the coming time.
