Ha Giang announces master plan for 2021-2030, with a vision for 2050

BHG - The northern province of Ha Giang recently held a conference to announce its master plan for the 2021-2030 period, with a vision for 2050, in the presence of Minister of Planning and Investment Nguyen Chi Dung.

In his opening address, Ha Giang People’s Committee Chairman Nguyen Van Son emphasised that the conference was an important event intended to publicise the contents of the provincial master plan while sharing investment cooperation opportunities.

He added that the province has determined planning as one of the key tasks in its development strategy planning to tap into Ha Giang’s strengths, unlock resources and realise its aspiration to rise up.

Ha Giang’s master plan for the 2021-2030 period, with a vision for 2050, was approved by the Prime Minister on November 13, 2023. This provides the legal basis and an important instrument for Ha Giang to maximise its potentials and strengths, mobilise investment resources, and create breakthroughs for rapid, sustainable, and comprehensive development in the coming time.

Ha Giang is committed to create the most favourable condition for enterprises and investors to contribute their ideas and successfully implement projects to realise Ha Giang’s master plan together.

Under the master plan, Ha Giang aims to become a moderately, comprehensively, and sustainably developed province in the northern midland and mountainous region. The economic growth rate during the 2021-2030 period averages at 8% per year, in which agriculture accounts for 22-23%, industry and construction 29% and services 43-44%. The province is aiming for GDP per capita of 95 million VND (3,800 USD) and budget revenue of 6 trillion VND (240 million USD) per year. The annual number of tourists to Ha Giang is expected to reach 5 million.

By 2050, Ha Giang strives to become a moderately developed province in all of Vietnam, in the direction of green, sustainable, and comprehensive growth, while maintaining its important position in the northern midland and mountainous region in terms of border gate economic development, border trade, tourism, and defence-security.

In addition, the provincial master plan outlines eight groups of key tasks and five development breakthroughs, as well as cover other contents such as sectoral development orientations, socio-economic activity organisation plans, technical infrastructure development plans, land zoning, environmental and biodiversity protection, disaster management, and climate change response.

With a new momentum from the master plan, Ha Giang is determined to successfully implement the resolutions of Party congresses at all levels and the 2021-2025 socio-economic development plan; laying a firm foundation to successfully realise the Ha Giang master plan for the 2021-2030 period, with a vision for 2050, thus contributing to realising the national aspiration for prosperity and happiness.

At the conference, Ha Giang Chairman Nguyen Van Son presented certificates of merits to 14 collectives with excellent achievements in making the Ha Giang master plan for the 2021-2030 period, with a vision for 2050. Ha Giang officials also handed over investment licences to eight projects with total capital of over 1 trillion VND (40 million USD).
