Dong Van District implements 12 highlight projects to serve 10th Buckwheat Flower Festival
BHG - To upgrade tourism infrastructure and serve the 10th Buckwheat Flower Festival, Dong Van District has initiated the construction and renovation of 12 key tourist attractions across primary communes and towns.
Among these highlight projects are traditionally woven quay tau (back basket), handcrafted by artisans near Dong Van Town’s water source. |
As part of this effort, Dong Van District has upgraded and beautified the following sites: the Tham Ma Pass rest stop; the Cultural Tourism Village of Lan Xi A Hamlet in Pho Cao Commune; sidewalks in Lung Cam Tren Hamlet, Sung La Commune; the welcome gate in Dong Van Town; a Centre for Nighttime Tourism and Performing Arts; the water source area in Group 4, Dong Van Town; a traditional architecture-inspired exhibition house displaying local products; the northernmost point of Lung Cu Commune; a parking area and other supporting facilities in Lung Cu; and the district’s entrance area.
Over 70% of the work is complete, with the inauguration planned during the festival’s opening ceremony on November 9.
Between 2024 and 2026, Dong Van District will implement 23 highlight projects to promote tourism. For 2024, the district has prioritised 12 projects, with the remaining 11 to be undertaken between 2025 and 2026.
The renovation and construction of these tourism highlights aim to create a unique identity for Dong Van District, gradually enhancing service quality for tourists and positioning Dong Van as a “safe, attractive, and friendly” destination. This initiative also aligns with Resolution No. 08 of the Politburo on developing tourism into a leading economic sector.
