BHG - Ho Thau, 32 km from the centre of Hoang Su Phi District, is a commune inhabited by many ethnic groups, such as Dao, Mong, Nung, Tay, and Kinh, with eight villages.

This place has diverse cultural values ​​and a rich traditional identity, along with beautiful natural landscapes, such as the national landscape of terraced fields, Chieu Lau Thi mountain peak, primaeval forests and ancient Shan Tuyet tea forests.

Recognising the potential for tourism development of the commune, local authorities have developed many projects and plans to preserve and promote the cultural identity of ethnic groups associated with community tourism development. The commune focuses on promoting the role of prestigious people in the community, eliminating bad customs and restoring cultural heritages such as the 'cap sac' ritual, fire dancing, ancestor worship and praying for luck. In addition, Ho Thau Commune focuses on embellishing historical and cultural relics and scenic spots, restoring traditional festivals and building them into typical festivals to attract tourists. Cultural and artistic activities, preserving cultural heritage and developing typical tourism products are also being promoted.

In the coming time, Ho Thau Commune authorities will orient tourism development associated with cultural conservation by completing the planning and strategy for developing tourist destinations in a fast, strong and sustainable direction. The commune will prioritise investment from the State budget to promote potential and, at the same time, call for investment from businesses and individuals.

Activities to promote ethnic culture will be enhanced, using information technology and social networks to propagate, connect, and cooperate in cultural conservation and tourism development. At the same time, improving the quality of the staff in the cultural sector at the grassroots level is also focused on ensuring Ho Thau's sustainable development.
