Ministry of Planning and Investment evaluates results of administrative procedure reform with four northern mountainous provinces

BHG - On the morning of December 12, in Hanoi, the Ministry of Planning and Investment (MPI), a member of the Prime Minister’s Administrative Procedure Reform Working Group, held an online conference with four provinces, including Ha Giang, Lao Cai, Yen Bai, and Phu Tho to evaluate administrative procedure reform in 2024.

In 2024, the Ministry of Planning and Investment and the four localities closely coordinated and effectively implemented administrative procedure reform tasks. In particular, attention was paid to cutting and simplifying administrative procedures, publicising, being transparent, enhancing the digitalisation of administrative procedures, and providing online public services. In particular, the Ministry of Planning and Investment completed cutting and simplifying 20 administrative procedures, helping to save more than 3.3 billion VND. Localities have made many outstanding efforts in implementing administrative procedure reform, thereby reducing costs and time for organisations and individuals when implementing administrative procedures, promoting transparency, improving service efficiency of state administrative agencies, and creating motivation to promote socio-economic development in localities.

The results of synthesising the index of direction, operation and assessment of service quality for people and businesses in implementing administrative procedures and public services in real-time in the electronic environment (index of direction and operation) in 2024 show that the Ministry of Planning and Investment ranked 5th out of 21 ministries and ministerial-level agencies. Yen Bai Province ranked 6th out of 63 provinces and cities, followed by Ha Giang (10th), Lao Cai (11th), and Phu Tho (43rd).

At the conference, delegates analysed and pointed out difficulties and obstacles and proposed solutions to effectively implement key tasks related to reforming and implementing administrative procedure regulations.

Discussing at the conference, Deputy Chief of the Provincial People’s Committee Office Pham Hong Thanh emphasised that the implementation of the set of directive and management indicators has proven effective, becoming an important tool to improve the quality of administrative procedure settlement in Ha Giang Province.
