Red Pho – Specialty of western region

BHG - Xin Man, a district located in the western part of Ha Giang Province, is renowned for its breathtaking destinations such as the Suoi Thau Steppe (often compared to the stunning landscapes of Switzerland), Tien Waterfall within the Deo Gio rainforest, Thien Thuy Cave, and the Nan Ma relic site.

The highlight of Xin Man Red Pho lies in its unique rice noodles made from red or brown rice.

The rice is ground into a fine powder and then manually processed into rice sheets. These sheets are hung on bamboo rods to dry in the household.

When a customer orders, the vendor cuts the noodles by hand.

Today, this unique ‘wind-hung’ Red Pho is not only available in Xin Man District but can also be found in various locations across Ha Giang Province, catering to the diverse tastes of food lovers.
