BHG - The development of science, technology, innovation, and digital transformation is a crucial factor in the 4.0 era. Ha Giang Province’s tourism sector has proactively adopted technology to offer smart tourism experiences, optimise business operations, and support management agencies in effectively monitoring destinations.

Thanks to digital platforms, tourists can easily look up information, book itineraries, and make online payments. Trinh Ngoc Ha, a visitor who has recently travelled to Ha Giang, shared that booking accommodations, renting vehicles, and accessing information via QR codes at tourist sites were all highly convenient.

During the implementation process of the Provincial Party Committee’s Resolution No.18 on digital transformation, the tourism sector has intensified its promotional efforts through international online tourism programmes, QR code scanning at events, and the use of VR and AR to create dynamic tourism products. These initiatives have helped Ha Giang become a highly searched destination on digital platforms.

Digital transformation not only enhances the visitor experience but also enables businesses to optimise promotional costs, improve service quality, and digitise tourism data. This allows management agencies to monitor tourism trends, protect heritage sites, and boost sustainable tourism development.

The key tasks for the tourism sector in the near future include raising public awareness of digital transformation, expanding the use of technology in tourism promotion, digitising information on tourist attractions with multilingual content, installing QR codes for easy information retrieval, piloting smart tourism kiosks, and utilising AI to assist visitors.

According to Deputy Director of the Provincial Tourism Promotion Centre Vu Thi Mai Huong, the centre will continue to advise the tourism sector on concretising digital transformation plans, supporting businesses in adopting technology for marketing and service automation, strengthening partnerships with organisations and corporations for digital technology transfer, and participating in international tourism exhibitions to seek effective digital transformation solutions.
