Promoting international and regional economic integration, including participation in FTAs, has been a consistent policy of Vietnam in recent years. Vietnam has negotiated, signed, and implemented 17 FTAs with over 60 partners across all continents, significantly contributing to the country’s increasingly developed and resilient economy.

The FTA Index is built based on surveys of the business community across all 63 provinces and cities nationwide. It reflects the level of utilisation and implementation of FTAs through four main criteria: the extent to which businesses access FTA-related information; compliance with domestic laws derived from FTA commitments; the effectiveness of support programmes for businesses in utilising FTAs; and the implementation of sustainable development commitments at the local level.

The Ministry of Industry and Trade honoured the top 10 provinces and cities with outstanding FTA implementation results at the ceremony. Ha Giang entered the leading group nationwide, for the first time, ranking seventh with a score of 32.46. Other localities in the top 10 include: Ca Mau (first place with 34.90 points), Thanh Hoa, Binh Duong, Khanh Hoa, Tra Vinh, Long An, Bac Lieu, Ninh Binh, and Dien Bien.
