In the early days of October, people in Yen Phu commune harvest dragon fruits in the bustling atmosphere. In recent years, red dragon fruit has become a key crop, helping local farmers to escape poverty.
To improve the quality and value of dragon fruit, farmers in Yen Phu have proactively applied science and technology in production and cultivated the fruit under organic and VietGAP standards. Red dragon fruit is grown in concentrated areas of the commune, producing fresh and juicy yields. Therefore, Yen Phu is considered the dragon fruit capital of Tuyen Quang province.
The commune has 52 hectares of red dragon fruit, mostly in the hamlets of 1 Minh Phu, 1A Thong Nhat, 3 Minh Phu, and Km 61. The selling price of red dragon fruit ranges from VND15,000 to VND30,000 per kilogram, creating a stable income for local people.
