On September 27 and September 28, the atmosphere in Khuoi Trang hamlet, Lam Binh commune, became more vibrant and bustling than ever with the H’mong People’s Cultural Festival and the unique “Golden Season” experience program. The festival was not only an occasion for local people to recreate and preserve the unique traditional cultural values of the H’mong ethnic group, but also opened a colorful space for cultural exchange, attracting a large number of visitors.
The Thanh Tuyen Festival, also known as the Tuyen Quang Mid-Autumn Festival, has become a unique cultural rendezvous, bringing together hundreds of giant lantern models meticulously designed with creativity and artistry. These lanterns vividly recreate cultural life, historical stories, and the breath of modern times, offering visitors an unforgettable experience.
Na Cham village in Kien Dai commune, Tuyen Quang province, is home to the Dao Tien ethnic group, who have long lived in close connection with the forests. Every year, on the 15th day of the seventh lunar month, villagers climb the mountains to collect wild banana roots to make a traditional cake known as banana root cake. This cake is an indispensable offering in the Dao Tien people’s worship of gods and ancestors.
Banana is the main crop, bringing income to local people in Luc Hanh commune. However, in recent years, because the selling price of bananas has decreased, farmers in the commune intend to reduce banana cultivation. In the context, Mr. Nguyen The Hai and his wife from Tho Son hamlet have boldly changed their intention to process banana fruits into various products, such as dried banana, banana chips, etc., contributing to enhancing local agricultural values.
On the high mountains of Tay Con Linh, ancient Shan Tuyet tea trees are revered as “green gold”, a precious gift of nature that has contributed to building the brand of Tuyen Quang tea. Following the administrative merger of Tuyen Quang and Ha Giang, the province has become one of the largest green tea regions in the country, with Shan Tuyet ancient tea standing out as its most highly valued product.
Amidst the vast green space of the UNESCO Global Geopark - Dong Van Karst Plateau, the H’Mong Village Resort emerges as a “green gem”, embodying the resilient spirit of the borderland that still faces many challenges.
In Thac Tang hamlet, Cao Bo commune, the rhythmic tap of small hammers blends seamlessly with the tranquil pace of mountain life, signaling the enduring presence of a traditional craft passed down through generations - the silversmithing of the Dao people.
On August 10, the Tuyen Quang Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism, in collaboration with the provincial Tourism Association, the People’s Committee of Lung Tam Commune, H’Mong Village Investment and Tourism Development JSC, and Switzerland’s Haviltas Sustainable Tourism Development Cooperation Organization, held a groundbreaking ceremony for the project to restore, reconstruct, and develop Lung Hau Cultural Tourism Village in Lung Tam Commune.
Without modern playgrounds or bustling summer amusement parks, the childhood of H’mong children in the highlands of Tuyen Quang still shines brightly against the backdrop of majestic nature. These children innocently follow their parents to the fields, gather to play traditional games like jacks, spinning tops, or run freely along the mountain slopes.
Trong Con Sub-zone, located on the left bank of the Lo river in Tuyen Quang, is regarded as a sacred symbol of Vietnam’s revolutionary history. It witnessed the first footsteps of the Vietnam Propaganda Unit of the Liberation Army and played a vital role in the early development of the Vietnamese revolution. Nearly eight decades after serving as a resilient revolutionary base, the sacred land of Trong Con Sub-region is now experiencing a daily transformation.
In the 2025 winter-spring crop, Tuyen Quang province aims to cultivate around 48,000 hectares of rice, with a projected average yield of over 60 quintals per hectare. At present, farmers are busy preparing the soil and transplanting rice seedlings, creating a bustling atmosphere.
Located in the highland village of Khuoi My, Ha Giang 1 ward, Tuyen Quang province, the Khuoi My terraced fields become a captivating destination during the water-pouring season, which lasts from June to July each year.
