Some destinations, such as Phu Quoc, Sa Pa, and Quang Ninh, achieved impressive results, contributing to increasing the recognition of Vietnam's brand in the international arena.

The Lunar New Year 2025 recorded a large number of international visitors to Phu Quoc. Not only visitors from Taiwan (China), the Republic of Korea, Thailand, and Singapore, but many people from Kazakhstan and Poland chose the island city to enjoy the traditional Vietnamese Lunar New Year atmosphere.

The People's Committee of Phu Quoc City informed that during the Lunar New Year holiday from January 25 to February 2, the locality welcomed more than 281,000 visitors, an increase of 47% compared to the same period in 2024.

Dinh Gia Long, General Director of Paradise Land Phu Quoc, said that resorts in Hoang Hon Town all reached a capacity of over 90% during this period.

According to a representative of Sun World Hon Thom Nature Park, the number of visitors using cable car services and shows increased. In particular, the number of people watching the show "Kiss of the Sea" increased by 284% compared to last year.

The bright spot of the peak Tet tourism season in Phu Quoc is the sharp increase in international visitors. Accordingly, Phu Quoc welcomes about 38-39 international flights every day. The total number of international visitors reached 74,833, an increase of 44% compared to last year.

Besides Phu Quoc, Sa Pa continues to be a "magnet", attracting visitors during the Lunar New Year thanks to its attractive experiences and the colors of spring. This is also a destination that contributes to Lao Cai's revenue of 1,342 billion VND from tourism activities.

Lao Cai's total revenue from international visitors reached about 126 billion VND, and total revenue from domestic visitors was about 1,215 billion VND, an increase of 49% over the same period in 2024.

In addition to Sa Pa, many destinations in Lao Cai also attract many tourists, such as Lao Cai City, Bac Ha District, Bat Xat District, and Bao Yen District.

Notably, until the end of January, every weekend, visitors to Lao Cai will experience a new festival. During the two weekends from February 8-9, you can participate in the Gau Tao Festival of the H'Mong people. Meanwhile, on February 15-16, the Red Dao people's Put Tong Festival will take place here.

In addition to Phu Quoc and Lao Cai, the provinces and cities of Quang Ninh, Da Nang, and Tay Ninh also attracted a large number of tourists during the Lunar New Year 2025.

A series of attractive spring travel programs have been organised in local tourist areas, attracting domestic and international visitors.

In Quang Ninh, the Silver Dawn ship carrying nearly 500 tourists from countries in Europe and America "broke ground" in Ha Long on the first day of the first lunar month. This event promises to open a positive signal for a bumper tourist season for international visitors.

In Da Nang, tourists are especially excited about the Tulip Festival taking place in the atmosphere of celebrating the new spring. Nearly 400,000 flowers of 45 rare varieties are blooming and showing off their colors on Ba Na Peak. The Tulip Festival will last until the end of February 2025.

In Tay Ninh, in the first days of the new year, Ba Den Mountain has attracted hundreds of thousands of pilgrims every day. Visitors will be immersed in the atmosphere of the Ba Mountain Spring Festival, which lasts throughout January, with many special activities.

In general, during the Lunar New Year 2025, the tourism industry nationwide is expected to welcome and serve 12.5 million domestic visitors, an increase of about 19% over the same period in 2024.

International visitors also increased by an average of about 30%, thanks to the effect of visa policies, the restructuring of the tourist market and the innovation efforts of localities and businesses.
