At the northernmost point of the country, the Lung Cu Flagpole rises majestically, with the red flag bearing a yellow star flying proudly in the wind, affirming the sacred sovereignty of the nation. Nestled at its foot beside the emerald Dragon Eye Lake, Then Pa village appears peaceful with ancient yin-yang tiled roofs, mossy earthen walls, and the rich cultural traditions of the Mong people.
Since the beginning of 2025, Lung Cu Commune has welcomed more than 200,000 tourists, with Then Pa standing out as a key destination. Many households have joined the homestay business, earning stable incomes, improving their livelihoods, and significantly reducing poverty rates.
Mr. Duong Ngoc Duc, Secretary of the Lung Cu Commune Party Committee, affirmed: “In the upcoming term, the commune defines tourism as a spearhead economic sector, with agriculture as the fundamental base. Then Pa, along with other community cultural villages, will serve as the core, contributing to making Lung Cu the tourism center of the Dong Van Karst Plateau by 2030. Tourism development must go hand in hand with preserving cultural identity and protecting the environment to ensure sustainability.”
