My Lam Hot Mineral Spring – an indispensable destination in Tuyen Quang
Located about 10 km from Tuyen Quang City center along National Highway 37, My Lam hot mineral spring has long been an attractive destination for both local and international tourists. First discovered in 1923 by French geologist C. Madrolle, the underground spring lies more than 150 meters deep, reaching nearly 70 degrees Celsius, with a high sulfur content. For local residents, My Lam carries nostalgic memories, while for visitors it offers a peaceful rural landscape where Tay and Cao Lan ethnic communities live in harmony. Every year, thousands of visitors come to bathe in the mineral water, which is believed to help treat ailments such as arthritis, skin diseases, and hypertension, with a high recovery rate.
In recent years, My Lam has seen major investment in diverse tourism services, including hot mineral bathing, mud baths, Dao herbal baths, and eco-lodges. Tourists not only find relaxation and health recovery but also enjoy serene natural scenery and the warm hospitality of local people.

Large enterprises and corporations are also implementing key projects in the area, such as the Vinpearl Golf Course, resort urban areas, sports parks, and entertainment complexes. Infrastructure development is a priority, notably a new 7.6-kilometer road connecting Tuyen Quang City to My Lam, with total investment of nearly VND 1,000 billion (about USD 41.6 million). Once completed, the road will link with the Tuyen Quang–Phu Tho Expressway, National Highway 2D, and other main routes, reducing travel time and fostering urban expansion while driving socio-economic growth.
According to the master plan, the My Lam Tourism Zone will cover 5.4 million square meters, with an expected population of around 20,000. Ongoing construction includes high-end resort complexes inspired by Japanese onsen architecture and Balinese tropical design, blending harmoniously with nature.
With its natural advantages and synchronized investments, My Lam hot mineral spring is poised to become a leading wellness tourism destination in northern Vietnam, contributing to Tuyen Quang’s comprehensive and sustainable development.
