One notable highlight is the return of midfielder Nguyen Thi Thanh Nha, who had been sidelined by injury. The Ha Noi FC player is expected to strengthen the midfield, bringing mobility and creativity to the team.
In addition, Head Coach Mai Duc Chung continues to give opportunities to promising young players such as Nguyen Thi Truc Huong and Tran Thi Thu Xuan from Than Khoang San Viet Nam FC, as part of an effort to refresh the squad and aim for the regional title.
This year, Viet Nam is placed in Group A with Thailand, Cambodia, and Indonesia. According to the schedule, Coach Mai Duc Chung and his team will play their opening match against Cambodia at Lach Tray Stadium in Hai Phong City at 7:30 p.m. on August 6, followed by matches against Indonesia and Thailand on August 9 and 12, respectively.
Currently, fans can buy tickets to watch the Vietnamese women's team compete in matches in Group A with ticket prices of 50,000 VND and 100,000 VND.
Meanwhile, Group B includes the teams: Australia, the Philippines, Myanmar, and Timor-Leste, and will compete at Viet Tri Stadium in Phu Tho Province starting August 7.
This tournament is an important opportunity for the Vietnamese women's team to review their squad, gain experience in international competitions, and create favourable psychological momentum for bigger goals in the future, especially the 2026 AFC Women's Asian Cup Finals.
