Effectiveness of women’s emulation movements
Responding to the ‘Clean Sunday’ campaign and the movement to build ‘5 no’s, 3 clean’s’ families, the Women’s Union branch of Hamlet 1A Thong Nhat (Yen Phu Commune) has maintained a 250-meter flower road. Members also regularly sweep, collect waste, trim plants, and eliminate ‘black spots’ of garbage to keep the area bright, green, and beautiful.

According to Ly Thi Thu, Chairwoman of the Yen Phu Women’s Union, communication efforts combined with direct household-level support have led to significant changes in members’ awareness and actions. Each year, 100% of women’s branches register to meet all eight criteria of the ‘5 no’s, 3 clean’s’ movement, with each branch helping at least two households achieve the standards. As of November 2025, 1,356 out of 1,621 households in the commune (83.6%) have fulfilled all eight criteria.
In Vi Xuyen Commune, where over 65% of female laborers work in agriculture and forestry, many women have boldly shifted to new crops and livestock, adopted technical innovations, and developed diverse economic models such as forest-garden farming, commercial pig raising, safe vegetable production, and flower and melon cultivation in greenhouses. According to Vi Hong Hanh, Chairwoman of the Vi Xuyen Women’s Union, attracting members requires offering practical benefits that help increase income and improve living conditions, while also promoting the role of reputable community figures, especially ethnic minority women.
Aligning with the national movement “Building the Vietnamese Woman of the New Era,” the provincial Women’s Union has launched various specialized initiatives. Between 2020 and 2025, 1,478 collectives and 5,247 individuals across the province received commendations; the provincial Women’s Union alone honored 44 collectives and 65 exemplary individuals. The province now has 1,111 women-led enterprises and 548 women’s economic groups operating effectively, providing a strong foundation for 59 women-led cooperatives with OCOP products rated three stars or higher.
According to Trieu Thi Tinh, Standing Vice Chairwoman of the Provincial Women’s Union, these achievements demonstrate the clear effectiveness of emulation movements in fostering women’s determination, creativity, and sense of responsibility.
