Urgent requirements in education and training development

At a meeting last week to implement Resolution No. 71-NQ/TW on breakthroughs in education and training, Party General Secretary To Lam emphasized that the resolution must swiftly generate tangible changes across the sector, particularly among teachers and administrators. The ultimate goal, he stressed, is to improve the quality of teaching and learning. He affirmed that the Party and the State will provide full support to ensure the successful realization of these objectives.

In the new academic year, a series of practical policies have been introduced, including tuition waivers, health insurance support for students, tuition subsidies for certain training programs, and reforms related to textbooks. These measures have been warmly welcomed by both parents and students.

The issuance of Resolution 71 by the Central Committee right before the new school year demonstrates the Party’s strong commitment to education. The resolution outlines specific requirements: improving the legal framework; developing national target programs; advancing preschool, general, and higher education; reforming curricula and mechanisms; ensuring adequate facilities, schools, classrooms, and teachers; while also addressing shortcomings and negative practices in the sector. Each task is assigned with clear responsibilities, detailed roadmaps, and timelines for completion.

These urgent requirements are expected to create a breakthrough, transforming schools into safe, humane, and creative environments. When students see every school day as a happy day, when teachers find true meaning in their profession without the burden of achievement-driven pressure, and when parents are freed from financial anxieties over contributions, education will truly become a gateway to the future rather than a constant concern for families.
