To raise awareness and a sense of responsibility among all levels, sectors, and the public in welcoming this great event with practical actions, the Prime Minister signed Directive No. 134/CĐ-TTg. The directive requires provinces and cities to launch nationwide movements for environmental protection and community-wide clean-up campaigns to celebrate the 80th anniversary of National Day.
Political and social organizations - including the Youth Union, Women’s Union, Veterans’ Association, and Farmers’ Union - have been assigned a key role in organizing, guiding, monitoring, and implementing environmental sanitation efforts in residential areas and public spaces. The goal is to prevent waste accumulation and ensure environmental hygiene, particularly in neighborhoods, tourist destinations, public spaces, urban streets, village lanes, and alleys during the holiday.
The movement of waste collection, treatment, and environmental sanitation has become one of the major campaigns in recent times, with strong participation from the entire political system and citizens. This is not merely a short-term activity for the occasion but also a long-term strategy to address the increasingly serious problem of environmental pollution in Vietnam.
The directive reflects the Government’s strong concern for this issue, aiming to instill civilized living habits and a lasting sense of responsibility among citizens in protecting the environment, thereby contributing to a green, clean, and beautiful Vietnam.
