Building new homes, inspiring new hope

Eliminating makeshift and dilapidated houses has been identified as a key social welfare task in Tuyen Quang province. Authorities at all levels have actively mobilized resources and raised public awareness under the motto “no one left behind.” Each new house not only provides shelter, but also fuels the determination to escape poverty.

In Bac Quang commune, Nguyen Van Vy’s family, whose child has a serious illness, received support to build a 100 m² house. This has helped them stabilize their life and focus on treatment. In another case, Ms. Luong Thi Men, who suffered a stroke and lived alone in a leaky house, now has a solid home thanks to both local support and a preferential loan. Ms. Do Thi Tinh, from a poor household in Yen Phu commune, also moved into a sturdy new home after years of living in deteriorated conditions. Especially, Ms. Nguyen Thi Phuong, who is single and without relatives, received full assistance from the local authorities, from site inspection and planning to completion of construction.

To speed up progress, thousands of volunteer workdays and donations from businesses, organizations, and individuals have been mobilized. As of July 4, 2025, the province had completed 12,737 out of 15,856 houses, reaching over 80% of the target. Beyond the beneficiaries, many locals have voluntarily contributed labor and materials to help others.

In Yen Phu commune, 24 houses have been completed, exceeding the target. The commune aims to help at least 52 households escape poverty by the end of 2025.

This program's success not only shows a large number of houses for the poor but also reflects deep community solidarity and shared compassion. Each new home offers more than a roof - it brings renewed hope and the promise of a better future.
