Provincial authorities are actively overseeing and expediting the construction and completion of new houses for residents.
To date, construction has been started on a total of 6,836 houses, of which 4,211 have been put into use. The total number of labour days mobilised to support construction has reached over 101,200 days.
From May 9 to 16 alone, the province launched 461 new houses and put 716 houses into use.
Provincial leaders attended house handover ceremonies for national contributors in the locality. Many districts and Ha Giang City have completed eliminating temporary and dilapidated houses ahead of schedule.
Temporary housing elimination is being carried out through comprehensive programmes such as the housing construction project for national contributors, the National Target Programme on Sustainable Poverty Reduction, the National Target Programme on Socio-Economic Development in Ethnic Minority and Mountainous Areas, and the Prime Minister’s campaign.
Additionally, local efforts have mobilized social resources to build and repair 97 more houses for impoverished families. Notably, after review, the number of houses benefited from the Prime Minister’s campaign increased by 682 compared to the initial approval.
In the coming time, the province will continue to direct districts to accelerate construction progress to ensure completion of the 2025 plan.
Eliminating temporary and dilapidated houses not only has social welfare significance but also plays an important role in sustainable poverty reduction, helping poor households improve their lives.
