Nguyen Tat Thang makes efforts to seek support for construction of 119 new houses in Ha Giang’s mountainous areas
BHG - These days, Ha Giang Province has been striving to eliminate makeshift and dilapidated houses for the poor. In addition to State funding, the YouTube channel "Nguyen Tat Thang" has taken its own unique approach by connecting philanthropists and donors within and outside Vietnam to provide support. Over six years of dedicated work, Nguyen Tat Thang has helped 119 highland households in Ha Giang build sturdy homes, a powerful testament to compassion and community spirit.

Born in My Bang Commune, Yen Son District, Tuyen Quang Province, Thang served as a cultural officer in Meo Vac District from 2008 to 2019. During those 11 years, he visited countless villages and deeply understood the hardships faced by local communities. Witnessing many families living in dilapidated houses, he felt a strong desire to help, but his limited income made it difficult.
In 2019, recognising the potential of the highlands and driven by a desire to support its people, Thang launched a YouTube channel to authentically portray the area's struggles. This initiative enabled him to connect with many benefactors who contributed to building solid homes for residents. He also collaborated with other YouTubers such as Pham Dung, SapaTV, Xe Dau Keo, and Thao Mi Linh to further spread the meaningful work.

In Hau Chua Village (Giang Chu Phin Commune, Meo Vac District), the family of Giang Mi Po is one of the households that received a new home through Thang’s support. Orphaned and living in poverty, the two brothers once struggled for shelter. Now having a solid house, Po expressed heartfelt gratitude.
Thanks to his credibility and persistence, since 2019, Thang has helped construct 119 houses across the districts of Meo Vac, Bac Me, and Vi Xuyen. In 2024 alone, 33 houses were built in many villages such as Hau Chua, San Seo Ty, San Si Lung, and Quan Xi, with each house receiving between 60–80 million VND in assistance.
Beyond building homes, Thang has also facilitated the construction of 12 bridges, six concrete roads, two communal houses, and provided hundreds of cattle. He has organised gratitude events, promoted the abandonment of outdated customs, and guided young people in mountainous areas toward a more positive lifestyle.
For his contributions, Nguyen Tat Thang has received numerous certificates of merit and is considered a role model in following the ideology, ethics, and style of President Ho Chi Minh.
