Between 2019 and 2022, Ha Giang successfully completed 239 houses for people with meritorious service. In 2025, the province continues to implement the housing support programme in line with the government’s policy. Nearly 3.4 billion VND has been allocated across seven districts and cities to build 38 houses and repair another 37. The implementation is being closely monitored to ensure the right beneficiaries, quality, safety, and convenience.
Guided by the principle “everyone contributes what they have”, local Party committees, authorities, and mass organisations have demonstrated creativity and flexibility in mobilisation and organisation. As a result, more than 5,400 solid houses have been started, of which 75 houses reserved for meritorious people were completed more than 100 days ahead of schedule. These homes stand as vivid testaments to the spirit of “When you drink water, remember the source.”

Bac Me is one of the standout localities. By assigning each home to the responsibility of one cadre, the district completed 15 houses in just two months. Pham Thi Hong Yen, Secretary of the District Party Committee, emphasised: “This is a special political mission, imbued with profound human significance.” Various forces and local residents joined hands by contributing labour, materials, and mobilising social resources to ensure that the meritorious people can have new houses before Uncle Ho’s birthday.
In Dong Yen Commune (Bac Quang District), the local Veterans’ Association has also played an active role in advising and mobilising public support to eradicate temporary housing. Every contribution, no matter how small, has become a valuable source of strength.
Today, 100% of households with meritorious service in Ha Giang enjoy living standards equal to or higher than the local average. The achievement of completing 75 homes the crystallisation of the Party's will and the people’s affection — when policies are no longer confined to paper, but have become real homes in everyday life.
As the nation joyfully celebrates the 135th birth anniversary of President Ho Chi Minh, each new house in this northernmost frontier land stands as a symbol of gratitude, arousing new faith and motivation for those with merit to continue to rise up.
