BHG - Launched in March 2023, the “Three Noes” Youth Union branch of Thuong Binh Village, Yen Thanh Commune (Quang Binh District), has 27 members. The members commit to implementing three noes: no child marriage, no third child, and no consanguineous marriage.

This creates a foundation for a civilised lifestyle, reducing the negative impacts of child marriage, having a third child, and consanguineous marriage in the area.

Thuong Binh Village has a total of 65 households, with 5 ethnic groups living together, including: Pa Then, La Chi, Nung, Dao and Tay. Implementing the “Three Noes” is not an easy task. However, with the determination of the Youth Union branch, its members have continuously worked to promote awareness and encourage locals to change their mindset and actions.

To date, the “Three Noes” Youth Union branch has conducted more than 20 awareness campaigns, reaching out to households in the village. The members have organised more than 10 cultural and sports exchange events, attracting widespread participation from residents and creating opportunities for people to easily receive messages about civilised lifestyle. During these awareness sessions, union members also distributed guidance materials on issues such as preventing child marriage and the benefits of implementing the “Three Noes”.

Xin Van Quan, Secretary of the Yen Thanh Commune Youth Union, shared: “We established the Youth Union branch not just as a gathering place but as a trusted foundation for the local people. Through cultural and sports exchange programmes, our members have become a bridge between civilised ideals and the reality of life for the locals, helping them to better understand the meaning of the “Three Noes” and gradually accept change.

In addition to awareness campaigns, the Youth Union branch actively participates in cultural and sports programmes to promote unity. Each cultural exchange event and group activity provides an opportunity to integrate educational content in a gentle manner, helping residents receive information naturally and comprehensibly. From small changes in people’s mindsets, healthy and civilised lifestyles gradually spread, helping the community progress.

The achievements of the “Three Noes” Youth Union branch in Thuong Binh not only help to effectively implement Resolution 27 of the Provincial Party Committee but also demonstrate the youth’s energy and pioneering spirit in building new rural areas, creating an important transformation and contributing to building a civilised, healthy and developed community.
