CARE International in Vietnam offers over VND3.5 billion to build houses for storm-hit people in Ha Giang

BHG - CARE International in Vietnam, in coordination with the Ha Giang Provincial Department of Agriculture and Rural Development, granted funding to build houses for people who were affected by Typhoon Yagi in the four districts of Quang Binh, Bac Quang, Xin Man, and Meo Vac.

 

Accordingly, CARE International in Vietnam provided funding for the construction of houses for 59 storm-hit households in the four districts. Of which, 25 houses are in Quang Binh District, 10 in Bac Quang, 15 in Meo Vac, and 9 in Xin Man. With each household receiving VND60 million, the total funding is over VND3.5 billion.

The houses are built according to the “three-solid” criteria: solid foundation, solid walls, and solid roof. The minimum area of each house is 60sq.m. It will be built in a safe area, in accordance with local planning.

The beneficiaries are those affected by storm No. 3, particularly poor and near-poor households, families of policy beneficiaries, single mothers, households with people of disabilities, and those that have been relocated or have lost their homes and are unable to recover on their own.

The project will take place from October to December 2024 and is expected to be completed before lunar New Year 2025.

Handing out the funding, the representative of CARE Organisation hopes that recipients will promptly build solid and sturdy houses to soon settle down and escape from poverty.
