At the launch ceremony, the organisers read a letter calling for support for people to overcome disaster consequences. The letter, authored by the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee’s chapter in Ha Giang Province, stated that the recent Typhoon Yagi, known in Vietnam as Typhoon No. 3, and its circulation have directly affected the northern provinces and cities.

Storms and heavy rains accompanied by floods and landslides have caused severe damage to people and property. The lives of people in areas affected by natural disasters and floods are facing many difficulties, so they are in need of support from all levels, sectors, and the whole society.

The Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee’s chapter in Ha Giang Province calls on agencies, units, organisations, armed forces, enterprises, religious organisations, philanthropists, public servants, workers, and people of all walks of life in the province to promote mutual support and make practical actions while joining hands to restore production and business activities and resettle people's lives.

In response to the call, participants at the launch ceremony donated at least one day of their salary to help typhoon victims.
