Over 43,000 visitors offer incense to commemorate heroic martyrs in July

BHG - In July, on the occasion of the 77th anniversary of War Invalids and Martyrs’ Day, the Vi Xuyen National Martyrs Cemetery and the Heroic Martyrs Temple on High Point 468, Nam Ngặt Hamlet, Thanh Thuy Commune (Vi Xuyen), welcomed thousands of delegations, veterans and people from inside and outside the province to visit and offer incense to the heroic martyrs resting there.

According to information from the Management Board of the Vi Xuyen National Martyrs Cemetery: In July, nearly 1,200 delegations, equivalent to 43,614 visitors came to visit, of which at the Vi Xuyen National Martyrs Cemetery, there were 598 delegations (22,356 people), 19 families of martyrs (162 people); and at the Heroic Martyrs Temple on High Point 468, there were 569 delegations (21,258 people).

To ensure the reception, guidance, and service of the people and tourists coming to visit and offer incense, the Management Board of Vi Xuyen National Martyrs’ Cemetery deployed tasks for each department, assigned officers and employees to be on duty 24/7, organised good ceremonies, served visiting delegations thoughtfully and attentively, and cleaned the areas and graves to ensure they were green, clean, beautiful and solemn.

It is known that the Vi Xuyen National Martyrs’ Cemetery is currently the resting place for 1,921 martyrs and one collective grave. The martyrs came from 32 provinces and cities including Quang Binh, Quang Tri, Thua Thien - Hue and beyond.
