Creating a breakthrough in policy communication

08:12, 11/06/2024

BHG - Policy is the most important issue in socio-economic development. Therefore, policy communication is an important task and function of state administrative agencies, at all levels, to open up resources and create strength and high efficiency in policy formulation and implementation.

Policy communication is the process of exchanging information about the policies of competent agencies to implement the Party’s guidelines and resolutions. From there, it is ensured that every citizen receives information from the moment the policy is drafted until it is issued, takes effect and comes into life. This is also an information channel to get opinions when developing new or adjusting policies, and creating social consensus. The press and other forms of media are information channels and basic methods for implementing policy communication, creating multidimensionality, interaction, and adjustment. Implementing Directive No.07 dated March 21, 2023, of the Prime Minister, on strengthening policy communication work, this activity has been strengthened by our province and placed in the right scope of tasks.

Although it is a mountainous and border province with many difficulties, Ha Giang is considered one of the localities that promoted early digital media activities. The results are clearly demonstrated, by the successful organisation of the Ha Giang Media Festival 2023. Further promoting policy communication work based on promoting existing advantages, in 2024, the province will continue to duplicate and expand the Media Festival model.

To ensure the implementation of synchronous solutions, on May 3, 2024, the Provincial People's Committee issued Document No.1268, on strengthening policy communication on the radio system. Accordingly, the Department of Information and Communications, the Provincial Radio and Television Station, districts and cities, agreed on the daily broadcast schedule of the Voice of Vietnam Radio and Provincial Radio and Television Station programmes, on the grassroots radio system of the entire province. At the same time, the Provincial Radio and Television Station has also prioritised producing content in Vietnamese and ethnic languages to communicate provincial and central policies and broadcast on FM and online radio systems. Localities organised the reception and relay of radio programmes on the grassroots radio system according to prescribed time frames. Thereby, building multi-dimensional communication on policies, timely dissemination of guidelines and policies of the Party and State, as well as socio-economic development tasks, creating consensus among all classes of people.
