Quang Binh, Hoang Su Phi, and Xin Man districts are located in the western and southwestern mountainous areas of the province, with a relatively dense system of rivers and streams, such as the Con River, Chay River, and Bac River, with frequent floods and landslides. In recent years, natural disasters have become complicated, with more hail, tornadoes, and flash floods and more serious impacts.

Therefore, from October 2022 to October 2023, the Department of Natural Resources and Environment coordinated with CET Construction - Engineering and Trading JSC to investigate the status and zone natural areas of landslides, as well as mapping landslides in three districts of Quang Binh, Hoang Su Phi, and Xin Man to devise appropriate prevention and mitigation solutions. After one year of joint efforts, the information on the investigation, survey, and mapping of landslide points has been completed according to the requirements and schedule. This is a very important basis for relevant sectors and districts to improve their ability to warn, prevent, and mitigate damages caused by landslides and to successfully perform population planning, contributing to ensuring stable socio-economic development in the locality.
