Currently, several major infrastructure projects are underway, including the Tuyen Quang - Ha Giang Expressway, the new Provincial General Hospital, the Ho Chi Minh Road, and National Highway 2D, etc.
Tuyen Quang - Ha Giang Expressway Phase 1 has been designated a national key project, with a total length of over 104 kilometers and built to a fully completed four-lane standard. Due to the terrain's steep embankments, some reaching 30 to 40 meters in height, the risk of landslides during heavy rains is significant. To proactively respond, contractors have promptly implemented preventive measures such as reinforcing embankments, terracing steep slopes, and accelerating the construction of drainage and culvert systems.
Mr. Nguyen Xuan Tung, Executive Director of Package XL-04 in Bac Quang commune, said that the construction unit has proactively implemented various measures to reduce landslide risks, ensure the safety of workers and machinery, and maintain stable construction progress.
At the construction site of the new Provincial General Hospital – a key project in the 2021 – 2025 period, with a total investment of nearly VND1,770 billion, the investor has implemented many solutions, including increasing manpower and machinery, organizing round-the-clock shifts, and developing timely material supply plans to keep the project on schedule.
At the section of the Tuyen Quang – Ha Giang Expressway running through Tuyen Quang province, Mr. Nguyen Thien Tuyen, Director of the Provincial Transport Project Management Unit, shared that since April, persistent rainfall has impacted construction activities. As a result, contractors have had to mobilize maximum resources and implement continuous work shifts to make up for weather-related delays.
In the face of growing impacts from climate change, contractors and project investors have recognized the need to remain flexible and proactive in responding to any arising challenges. Their goal is to ensure on-schedule project completion, contributing to the province’s socio-economic development and the achievement of its growth targets.
