Ha Giang’s outstanding results in public investment disbursement

BHG - In 2024, Ha Giang’s public investment disbursement results were higher than the national average thanks to the province’s resolute leadership and coordination between departments, agencies and localities.

Total disbursed capital reached 4.3699 trillion VND (74.3% of the target) and is expected to reach 95% by January 31, 2025.

Despite challenges from severe weather, shortage of construction materials, and strict regulations on mineral exploitation, the province effectively implemented many synchronised solutions.

Notably, disbursement of capital carried over from 2023 reached 75.8%. Disbursement for national target programmes achieved positive results, with 75.3% for the programme on socio-economic development in ethnic minority areas, 85.1% for the sustainable poverty reduction programmes, and 45.9% for the programme to build new rural areas.

The “60 days and nights” campaign to accelerate construction progress helped disburse an additional 521.1 billion VND (23.4% of target). Many localities achieved high disbursement rates, such as Quang Binh (113 billion VND), Dong Van (108 billion VND), and Xin Man (107 billion VND).

However, Ha Giang Province still faces challenges such as complex terrain, natural disasters, construction material shortages, and lengthy mineral exploitation licensing procedures.

Many projects are facing difficulties with site clearance, resettlement, and compliance with overlapping regulations, resulting in delays.

To overcome these issues, the province has emphasised site clearance as a key task. The mineral exploitation licensing process needs swift resolution. Acting Provincial Party Secretary Nguyen Manh Dung requires leadership at all levels to develop weekly capital disbursement progress charts for effective monitoring.

The 2024 disbursement results demonstrate significant efforts from the entire political system and people of Ha Giang.

The province expects to achieve further success in 2025, contributing to socio-economic development and improving people’s lives.
