Ha Giang’s "final push" to complete public investment disbursement
BHG - With the goal of completing the disbursement of public investment capital and national target programmes in the 2024 fiscal year, Ha Giang Province has launched a campaign titled “60 days and nights to accelerate the progress of implementing construction projects and completing the capital disbursement”. Althoughkey projects are facing many challenges, the spirit of the "final push" is being actively promoted in the last months of the year.
The Provincial Management Board of Agricultural and Rural Development Investment Projects is the investor of two major projects: the “Water Reservoir Dam for Landscape Development in the Centre of Ha Giang City” and the “Suu Stream Water Supply System”. The water reservoir dam project, with a total investment of over 330 billion VND, commenced in February 2023 and is expected to be completed by 2026. While the project’s total volume has reached about 57%, severe impactsfrom floods have delayed its progress. Similarly, the Suu Stream Water Supply System project is divided into two phases, with Phase 1 mostly completed. Phase 2 began in November 2023 and has now reached 62% completion but has also faced interruptions due to prolonged flooding.

In addition, 84% of work of the Provincial Sports and Culture Complex Project has been completed under the managementof the Provincial Management Board of Civil and Industrial Construction Investment Projects. However, this project is also facing difficulties, especially in land clearance compensation and complex geological issues at the site where the stands are being built. Furthermore, delays in blasting permits, heavy rain, and landslides have also impacted the construction schedule.
To accelerate progress, the province has requested that investors continue to closely coordinate with relevant agencies, complete land acquisition procedures for the additional land, and urge contractors to adjust their construction schedules. Solutions such as increasing working hours, adding shifts, mobilising more workers and machinery, and conducting strict supervision at the construction sites will be implemented to ensure that the projects are completed on time. At the same time, safety measures for traffic, labour, and environmental sanitation during construction will also receive great attention.
Thanks to the strong determination and firm direction, investors and contractors are making great efforts to complete the projects towards meeting the capital disbursement goals and supporting the local economic and social development in 2024.
