Digital transformation boosts development goals

BHG - Ha Giang Province has focused digital transformation on three pillars, including digital government, digital economy and digital society, thereby achieving many important results and gradually meeting development goals, as the province identifies digital transformation as a breakthrough solution and a key task of Party committees, authorities, organisations, businesses and people, to promote socio-economic development and ensure national defence and security.

In the first six months of 2024, Viettel Post and the provincial Post Office businesses provided training and support on listing typical products and OCOP products on e-commerce platforms. Relevant localities and units also promoted the implementation of cooperation programmes between the provincial People’s Committee and Viettel, VNPT, and FPT groups in digital transformation. Commune-level digital transformation models are being conducted, focusing on areas such as e-commerce development, smart tourism, and social services.

Currently, the province has more than 2,800 enterprises and 874 cooperatives, of which 168 enterprises and cooperatives are implementing digital transformation in their business models, 20 businesses are operating in digital technology, and 32 small and medium-sized enterprises have approached and participated in programmes in support of digital transformation for businesses. 100% of agricultural production households with accounts in e-commerce platforms have been provided with training and 100% of OCOP products are posted on e-commerce platforms.

In the field of non-cash payments, the province has deployed non-cash payments to 100% of educational establishments and completed the target of 100% of schools accepting non-cash payments, with non-cash payments reaching 85%. Activities of buying and selling and the payment of social welfare in non-cash forms are also fostered.

To effectively carry out the task of developing digital government, the province continues to maintain a specialised data transmission network among Party and State agencies and deploys a bandwidth monitoring system, with connection status and traffic of specialised data transmission networks meeting the needs of agencies. The province also boosts online and paperless meetings, in addition to quickly restructuring processes and providing level-4 online public services on smart mobile devices, to serve people and businesses.

Regarding digital society development, the province is strengthening electronic payments, creating favourable conditions for people and businesses in non-cash payments, while continuing to deploy applications on mobile devices, as a platform to allow people and businesses to use services anywhere and anytime, according to their needs.

Based on the Provincial Party Committee Resolution No.18 in 2021, on Digital Transformation in the 2021 - 2025 period, with a vision to 2030, the province will continue to effectively implement the digital transformation work.
