Mint honey is a unique agricultural product from the Dong Van Karst Plateau. It is distinguished by its refreshing sweetness, golden colour, and high nutritional value.

Today, the craft of beekeeping for mint honey is thriving in many communes, including Dong Van, Yen Minh, and Thang Mo, creating jobs for local workers.

To enhance product value, many cooperatives and enterprises in the province have invested in modern technology, standardizing production, packaging, and traceability processes.

In addition, local authorities have introduced various support policies, including preferential loans, technical training, and guidance on breeding native bee species, along with production standards aligned with VietGAP and HACCP.

The province has also promoted market expansion and maintained geographical indication certification for mint honey. Several value chain linkages between businesses, cooperatives, and beekeepers have been established, including Po My Agricultural and Trade Cooperative (Dong Van), which has achieved 3- to 4-star OCOP certification and is expanding into international markets.

With the joint efforts of authorities, enterprises, and local people, mint honey beekeeping has affirmed its position as a key economic sector, enriching local livelihoods while preserving the distinctive cultural identity of the Dong Van Karst Plateau.
