As a poor and particularly disadvantaged district, Quan Ba has mobilised the consensus of the entire political system and the people to build new styled rural areas. By 2024, the district will have 3 communes meeting new styled rural areas standards: Quyet Tien, Thanh Van and Dong Ha, achieving a total of 150 out of 228 criteria, an average of 11.5 per commune. During the year, the district has implemented many practical items such as building nearly 19 km of concrete roads, paving the floors for 222 households, building hundreds of toilets and hygienic bathrooms, and installing nearly 900 water tanks and cisterns. People also contributed more than 9,500 working days, opened and upgraded more than 24 km of rural roads.
In addition to the general tasks, Quan Ba also promoted many specific models such as building model residential areas, the movement to build beautiful gates and fences, socialising lighting systems and installing security cameras. Up to now, the district has had 41 model residential areas, including 13 new areas in 2024. These areas have actively completed criteria such as making welcome gates, planting ornamental trees, installing lighting, renovating household gardens and developing community tourism through the homestay model.
The movement to build beautiful gates and fences was launched in all 13 communes and towns, with 65 households participating. The district also mobilised more than 852 million VND to install lighting systems and 43 cameras in 2024. To date, the district has 32 lighting routes with 448 light bulbs and 132 security cameras in operation. As many as 89 out of 107 villages have Internet access, of which 38 villages use the network to install security cameras.
In addition, the district has built 18 “bright, green, clean, beautiful” routes, including 5 routes integrated into model residential areas. All communes assign households to take care of and clean the routes, contributing to preserving the landscape. According to Nguyen Manh Tung, Deputy Head of the Department of Agriculture and Environment of Quan Ba District, the highest goal of the district is to improve the quality of life for the people through creative, inclusive and effective ways in building new styled rural areas.
