BHG - Taking advantage of climate, land and investment from the government, Xin Man district's agriculture continues to achieve important results, becoming a pillar of the local economy.

The linkage chains in agriculture have been effective, bringing stable income to people and promoting sustainable development.

Action Program No. 15 of Xin Man District Party Committee has oriented the development of typical commodity agriculture according to value chains. The district focuses on products such as Shan Tuyet tea, medicinal plants, special rice, and raising pigs and goats. In 2024, the district's agriculture will achieve a rice output of nearly 24,000 tonnes and 20,000 tonnes of corn.

Notably, the linkage chain of pickled radish, shallots and ginger, implemented in 2022 between the District People's Committee and Misaki Vietnam Company Limited, has achieved high efficiency. In the raw material area of Xin Man Commune, 14 households in the cooperative have harvested nearly 400 tonnes of radish, each family earning from 70-120 million VND per crop.

In addition, the cold-water fish farming model at Deo Gio (Nham Dan Commune) has also recorded positive results. Dai An Agriculture, Forestry and Fishery Cooperative, established in 2023, has implemented a project to raise 16,800 cold-water fish, organised technical training and built preliminary processing facilities.

Cooperative members, such as Ly Seo Lin, have converted single-crop rice fields into sturgeon farming tanks, bringing in a stable source of income.

In parallel, other value chains such as Shan Tuyet tea (1,704 ha), medicinal plants (350 ha), and vegetables (65 ha) are still maintained and developed. Shan Tuyet tea products apply VietGAP and organic standards, not only consumed in the province but also leave a strong impression on the domestic market.

Xin Man agriculture plays a key role in local economic development. The 2025 plan aims to increase the proportion of livestock farming to 44%, the forest coverage rate to 53%, and the average value of cultivated products to 60 million VND per hectare.

With a clear orientation and close coordination between the government, businesses and people, Xin Man is building sustainable chains, ensuring food security and improving people's lives.
