Press conference announces 2024 socio-economic statistics
BHG - The Ha Giang Provincial Statistics Department recently held a press conference to announce the 2024 socio-economic statistics.
In 2024, the province’s socio-economic sector achieved notable results. Specifically, the Gross Regional Domestic Product (GRDP) is estimated to have grown by 6.05%, with the agricultural, forestry, and fishery sector reaching 5.1479 trillion VND, up 3.91%; the industrial and construction sector hitting 4.1282 trillion VND, up 6.71%; and the services sector reaching 938.8 billion VND, up 7.3%.

The total state budget revenue in 2024 is estimated at 2.475 trillion VND, an increase of 24.9% compared to 2023. The total development investment capital implemented in the province was posted at 14.3969 trillion VND. The province’s export and import turnover in 2024 is reported to have reached 280.5 million USD, a decrease of 0.18% compared to 2023.
In terms of social fields, the province provided employment for 30,505 workers, achieving 169.5% of the target. The school enrolment rate for the 2024-2025 school year largely met the set goals, with the daily attendance rate at all education levels exceeding 98%. In addition, housing construction and repairs were provided for 195 households affected by natural disasters and fires, with a total amount of 6.25 billion VND.
To successfully implement the socio-economic development plan for 2025, the Ha Giang Provincial Statistics Department has proposed several key solutions. Specifically, the aim is to build Ha Giang City to meet the criteria for a Class II urban area by 2025 and accelerate the implementation of the three national target programmes for the 2021-2025 period. The province also expects to promote the restructuring of crops to adapt to climate change, focusing on producing high-quality products to increase harvest value; and support businesses in overcoming challenges and creating favourable conditions for business development. It will also improve the construction and implementation of effective trade promotion programmes; make information and communication technology an important driver; and promote tourism investment while diversifying tourism products.
