BHG - In recent times, becoming an important bridge in economic development, cooperatives in Xin Man District have played a positive role in promoting the development of agricultural production in the direction of goods, bringing stable incomes to the people.

In Nam Dan Commune, people used to mainly grow corn and rice, however erratic weather and frequent droughts have affected the productivity of crops.

Wishing to support people in finding a suitable direction, Tung Lam Agricultural and Forestry Cooperative of Nam Dan Village, Nam Dan Commune, has coordinated with local authorities and people to initially test the growing of peanuts on 1 hectare of low-yield corn land.

After nearly four months, the peanuts grew and developed well, with high yields. Realising that the local natural and soil conditions are suitable for expanding the area, the cooperative has implemented peanut cultivation according to the production chain and product consumption. The model has received the attention and registration of many households.
