Tay man who preserves Tay ethnic culture
BHG - In the flow of modern life, when traditional values are gradually forgotten, Hoang Xuan Tuyen — a Tay ethnic man born in Xuan GiangCommune, Quang Binh Province, in 1999 — has chosen the preservation of ethnic culture as his path.
With a deep love for ethnic music, especially the Tinh gourd lute and flute, Tuyen has not only taught himself to play musical instruments but also actively spread cultural values through community activities.

Born in a space imbued with Tay ethnic culture, Tuyen grew up with Tinh gourd lute's melodies and Then songs. However, the development of society has gradually caused this value to fade away, prompting him to start his journey of self-learning musical instruments in 2023.
Despite facing many difficulties of studying online without an instructor, Tuyen persevered in practicing each basic technique, conquering the clear melody of the Tinh gourd lute. For him, the Tinh gourd lute is not only a musical instrument but also the embodiment of the soul of the Tay people, a bridge between the past and the present.
Tuyen shared that every time the Tinh gourd lute's sounds, he feels connected to his roots. He expressed his hope that traditional music is not only a memory but will always exist, accompanying the young generation in modern life.
In addition to self-study, Tuyen also actively participates in performances at local cultural events, telling stories about the origin and meaning of traditional musical instruments, thus contributing to raising public awareness of traditional cultural values.
Hoang Van Binh, Chairman of the Xuan Giang Commune Folk Artisans Association, highly appreciated Tuyen's spirit, considering him a shining example in preserving and spreading the cultural identity of the Tay ethnic group. Tuyen's tireless efforts have inspired the young generation, helping them gain a greater understanding and love for the cultural heritage of the Tay people.
In the digital age, Tuyen's contributions are like a cool stream, keeping the Tay cultural values from fading away, becoming a beautiful symbol of preserving and developing traditional culture.
