It underscores the commitment of local authorities and the unity of the community in fostering the development of the Dong Van Karst Plateau region.
Immediately after the resolution was adopted, provincial departments, sectors, and local governments closely coordinated with the Provincial People’s Committee to issue directives and guidelines. In 2024, the province allocated more than 41 billion VND to upgrade infrastructure in the geopark area, including renovating the road from Pa Vi to Nho Que 1 River, constructing the central square in Meo Vac District, and developing the Ho Chi Minh Monument Park. Key tourist destinations like Ma Pi Leng Pass, Pa Vi Ha community tourism village, and the Nho Que 1 hydropower lake marina have also been improved to enhance visitor experiences and elevate service quality.
In addition, international cooperation has been a key highlight, with participation in the Asia-Pacific Geoparks Network Symposium, promoting heritage through online tourism tours, connecting with travel businesses, and developing the Japanese tourism market. International delegations have been welcomed to survey the geopark area, fostering cultural exchange and sustainable tourism development.
Regular inspections and evaluations of heritage sites along the four main tourism routes and stringent control over stone mining and construction activities have been implemented. The province has proposed adjustments to investments enhancing these four tourism routes to better serve visitors during 2024–2027. Local authorities have also been urged to follow conservation practices based on recommendations from network experts during the 2022 revalidation process.
The achievements under Resolution 19-NQ/TU affirm the vital role of scientific strategies in heritage conservation. The province must continue to upgrade infrastructure, improve the quality of tourism human resources, and ensure a balance between economic development and environmental protection. This will enhance the values of the Dong Van Karst Plateau UNESCO Global Geopark and preserve its heritage for future generations.
