Love for the land and people in the plateau
BHG - In the early 21st century, the Ha Giang Provincial Literature and Arts Association was assigned to support the disadvantaged commune of Sung Train Meo Vac District.
AlthoughQuyet Thang Road was constructed to facilitate the local infrastructure, the commune still had a poverty rate of nearly 70%. The causes of poverty were diverse. Measures to boost socio-economic development did not generate sustainable results.

Given the situation, the Provincial Party Committee was determined to support disadvantaged communes in achieving the goal of hunger eradication and poverty reduction set in the provincial resolution.
The Association has mobilised financial and spiritual donations, from warm clothes and books for students to gifts for families of policy beneficiaries during the Tet (Lunar New Year) holiday. Notably, two families in Lo Lu Phin Village were supported to build new houses.
Accordingly, the family of Lau Thi Say, a Mong ethnic woman, can now live in a spacious three-room house and gradually escape poverty. Her sincere gratitude left a deep impression on the support team.
The second family receiving a new house was Ly ThiDinh. Although there were times when she was not at home, she still received greatcare from the community.
The Association also presented a pair of breeding goats to each household living in severely difficult circumstances. The association members have also made regular field trips, which help them witness the socio-economic development of the commune and resolve issues.
I have been to many disadvantaged areas in Ha GiangProvince, especially remote areas such as Tra Man, Ta Lung, and Landmark 0 (Son Vi Commune). Images of poverty there always haunt me.
Looking at the developed economic centres, it is easy to forget the hardships facing local people in remote areas.
The 277.556 km long shared border with China also reminds us of the strength of the ethnic community here, like images of loyal soldiers who are maintaining the peace for the Fatherland.
Since the province was re-established in 1991, Ha Giang has made significant development strides. Each party member and cadre cares for the people.
Although many challenges lay ahead, I believe that Ha Giang will establish itself as a special land, thanks to its scenic landscape and sincere people.
The province has prioritised investment in tourism with the Dong Van Stone Plateau recognised by UNESCO as a Global Geopark.
Nature has bestowed Ha Giang with many beautiful landscapes. The quality of life of 19 ethnic groups in the locality has gradually improved. Once Ha Giangsuccessfully escapes from its status as an extremely disadvantaged province, the outlook of the locality will become brighter.
