New appearance of Trong Con sub-zone

Trong Con Sub-zone, located on the left bank of the Lo river in Tuyen Quang, is regarded as a sacred symbol of Vietnam’s revolutionary history. It witnessed the first footsteps of the Vietnam Propaganda Unit of the Liberation Army and played a vital role in the early development of the Vietnamese revolution. Nearly eight decades after serving as a resilient revolutionary base, the sacred land of Trong Con Sub-region is now experiencing a daily transformation.

Bang Hanh Commune always focuses on education on revolutionary traditions at the Trong Con Sub-region relic site.

In 1996, Trong Con Sub-zone was recognized as a national-level historical relic site. At present, it is located at the newly merged Bang Hanh commune, with a population of more than 16,000 people from 13 ethnic groups.

Comrade Nguyen Ba Tuan, Chairman of Bang Hanh Commune People's Committee, said that to uphold the tradition of the revolutionary homeland, the local Party Committee and government have made efforts to to revive a land once plagued by pain and hardship. Inter-commune roads and National Highway 279 have been paved, creating favorable conditions for economic development, trade, and the connection of traditional markets, etc.

The local economy has undergone a clear transformation, with agriculture identified as a key economic driver. The commune has developed specialized cultivation areas, including 544 hectares of rice, over 250 hectares of tea, 204 hectares of corn, 162 hectares of peanuts, and 51 hectares of oranges and other citrus fruits. Livestock production has also expanded, with nearly 16,300 heads of cattle and more than 121,000 poultry. Forests are effectively managed and protected, and forest fire prevention and control efforts are well-organized to ensure safety during the dry season.

Education continues to be a key focus, laying a solid foundation for future generations. The commune currently has 9 public schools, including 3 kindergartens, 3 primary schools, 3 secondary schools, and 1 provincial high school.

Primary healthcare services meet national standards, ensuring regular vaccinations and basic medical care, particularly in disease prevention and control.

Social security policies are strictly implemented, providing timely support for people with meritorious services, poor households, and those under social protection programs. The poverty rate in the commune has decreased to just 5.75%, while the rate of near-poor households stands at 7.96%.

To stay close to the people and better serve them, Bang Hanh Commune officially launched its Public Administration Service Center on July 1, 2025. The center now receives and processes dozens of applications each week. Through effective communication and public awareness campaigns, people have shown strong support for the two-level government model. As a result, Bang Hanh has become one of the leading localities in disseminating policies and laws, as well as maintaining national defense and security.

Despite many challenges, with a strong revolutionary foundation, a tradition of solidarity, and a determination to innovate, the revolutionary homeland of Trong Con Sub-region is gradually realizing its development aspirations. Locals believe that with the attention of the Party, the State, and Tuyen Quang province, this historic land will continue to rise, becoming a symbol of revival and sustainable development.
